I went to photograph my foxes again last weekend, and the weather was really nice, with clear skies and mist, and a layer of frost over the ground. Here are a couple from before the sun came up.
And then some in the sun.

Some stuff from Norfolk.
Just a quick post today, with some pictures I took in Norfolk in mid-October.
First up, a Barn Owl we encountered just after the sun had set.
Next, some Golden Plover.
Lastly, a Goldcrest. There were very confiding, but moved around very quickly. This one paused on here long enough for me to get a couple of shots.

More Foxes
These are some images from my last trip out to see the Foxes. This time the weather was much better, and I had the benefit of some nice evening sunlight.

Oh, and here's a video. And yes, that is my foot.

They're back!
That's right, a Bittern has returned to the London Wetlands Centre for the winter. It should be joined by at least a couple of others fairly soon, which will stay here until mid-March. Just one shot today, not a great one, but it's still a Bittern!

Turnstones from Norfolk
I was in Norfolk for 3 days a couple of weeks ago. The weather was not ideal though, with thick fog all day for two of the 3 days. However this, combined with northeasterly winds, caused a huge fall of birds on the coast there. There were thousands of thrushes dropping out of the fog, as well as several hundred robins, and large numbers of brambling, goldcrests, and ring ouzels. One of the species I concentrated on was Turnstone as they were abundant all along the coast.
I was quite pleased to get it running along the sand, and feeding.
This one was actually turning stones!
